In 2007 the Celtics were allocated the fifth pick in the 2007 NBA Draft in the lottery. This lost them any chance of drafting Greg Oden or Kevin Durant, and in many ways the fifth selection represented bad news for those hoping to sell tickets to Boston Celtics games.
